Uma Sudhir is Executive Editor (South) with New Delhi Television and oversees news operations for TV and digital platform from the south of the country.

The cornerstones of the journalism she practises have been recognised for fairness, sensitivity, a high degree of integrity and honesty, truth and fearlessness while maintaining neutrality.

Her reporting is incisive and analytical, creative awareness on ground realities, on a range of issues relating to politics, children, women, human rights, agriculture, human rights and minority issues.

Uma has won prestigious awards including the prestigious Chameli Devi Jain Award for an Outstanding Woman Journalist, Ramnath Goenka Award for Excellence in Journalism for Uncovering India Invisible, for reports on migrant workers.

Uma got the UNFPA  Laadli awards five times for reports on the girl child and infanticide, critical reports on policies for protection of the girl child.

Uma won for NDTV the International Press Institute award for excellence in journalism given away by President Abdul Kalam for a series on Baby India (India's girl child),

Other honours include 

*United Nations award for excellence in science writing for reports on fluorosis,

* an anti-corruption crusader award for reports on illegal mining in Bellary.

* Best woman journalist award by the Andhra Pradesh government

* World Tourism award for Best Documentary on Tirupati.
