How can India convert digital leadership into global competitiveness?

Aadhaar, UPI, DigiLocker have turned digital infrastructure into an economic edge for India. But that edge alone won't get India past the middle-income trap. Escaping it will take sustained private investment. The question is where that investment comes from next.

Companies are diversifying where they manufacture, and that gives India an opening. An open, competitive economy pulls in capital. Turning that capital into jobs and higher incomes is the real test. Private enterprise will carry most of that load. Skills need to keep pace.

Professor Krishnamurthy V. Subramanian names the pattern: GST, IBC, DPI, the Covid-era balancing act. India's policy architects built each one deliberately. The world opened a window. India built the door. Reaching 2047 means trusting entrepreneurs to drive growth, backed by policy that removes friction instead of adding control.
